MS Symptom Management program to be offered across chapter area
Join Dr. Randall Schapiro, founder and former director of the Schapiro Center for Multiple Sclerosis at the Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology and the Fairview MS Achievement Center, for a program about managing the symptoms of MS. Sessions will be offered in Bismarck, N.D.; Fargo, N.D.; Sioux City, Iowa; Dubuque, Iowa; and Davenport, Iowa. Learn more and sign up now.

Dust off your bike. Bike MS events are just around the corner!
More than 8,000 people in North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa live with MS. That's more than 8,000 reasons to register for a Bike MS event today. Each year, honorees are selected for Walk MS in Bismarck, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Fargo, Rapid City, Quad Cities and Sioux Falls. These honorees have the important task of giving a face and voice to the disease. To read their stories, click here.

Financial assistance

Financial assistance for families affected by MS is available
In the first quarter of 2011, the North Central States Chapter helped 48 people through our Financial Assistance Program, totaling more than $10,000. This program helps when families affected by MS get in a financial pinch and is limited to $250 per applicant per fiscal year. Learn more and download an application.

Little Black Dress and A Taste of Generosity recaps
The Little Black Dress for MS luncheons, recently held in Fargo, N.D. and in Iowa City, Iowa, were a great success, raising $44,000. We’d like to recognize our attendees, and give a special thank you to our event sponsors: Presenting Sponsor EMD Serono; and Major Sponsors Valley News Live, FM 105.1, KDAT 104.5, TEVA Neuroscience, Biogen Idec and Questcor Pharmacueticals. MS Awareness Week

MS Awareness Week recap
During MS Awareness Week in March, thousands of people across the North Central States Chapter came together to create awareness by wearing orange, attending an MS Day at the Capitol in Iowa and North Dakota and by raising funds for their Walk MS or Bike MS team. Check out media coverage from the week .

collective of passionate individuals, moving together to create a world free of MS.
